A builder's mindset

Technical depth, guided by curiosity.

I enjoy the work between an idea and a useful result: learning the system, making the right tradeoffs, and refining the experience until it feels clear. My interests sit across software engineering, cloud infrastructure, data, and responsive web development.

Outside of the terminal, I bring the same discipline to soccer and education. Playing soccer my whole life and tutoring have made me a clearer communicator, a patient problem solver, and a teammate who stays focused on the next play.

  • Built a Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL volunteer platform using MVC architecture and Active Record relational data models.
  • Modeled users, organizations, events, tags, favorites, and registrations through indexed relationships and database migrations.
  • Developed interest-based event discovery and recommendation logic using categorical tag filtering and user-preference data.
  • Implemented routes, controllers, views, and models following the MVC pattern, and designed the supporting PostgreSQL database schema.

Multi-Threaded Chat

C chat application built around TCP/IP networking, socket programming, and safe concurrent room management.

  • Engineered a multithreaded C chat application using POSIX sockets, TCP/IP networking, and IPv4 client-server architecture.
  • Created a thread-per-client server with pthread mutexes to safely synchronize shared room and participant data structures.
  • Implemented dynamic chat-room creation, room-isolated message broadcasting, username registration, and a command-based protocol.
  • Built asynchronous client send/receive threads and binary-safe peer file streaming with accept/reject handshakes and 4 KB buffers.
